Concept:
The team concept will be based off the infamous Lockheed Martin Skunk Works team. The Skunk Works team is a project group responsible for aircraft designs, including the U-2, SR-71 Blackbird, F-117 Stealth and the F-22 Raptor. We hope to emulate the SR-71 Blackbird.
All team members will be wearing Flight suits, with our call "signs" and patches adorning them. Our car will include the infamous tail section of the SR71 Blackbird including both jet engines and the iconic dual tail rudders. The rudders will mimic the steering to give the advantage of "active aero".
The car will be painted a flat black, with the decals and symbols found on the plane. We will incorporate a working tail flashing beacon and navigation lights on the "wingtips", also watch for real smoke from the "afterburners"!
Barring any technical difficulties, the race will be broadcast live on the big screens at LongShots Billiards and Darts. LongShots has been an active supporter of the local car sceen for almost 3 years, from car shows and drift events to Auto-X and charity events.
